Thompsons celebrates its 13th year of city centre clubbing with some of the world’s finest djs and events set to fire up the floor over May & June.
Monday’s BLUE MONDAY continues to kick start the week’s activities with Jay Kay & Midge spinning four decades worth of eclectic floorfillers. Tuesday’s DUST features the finest in Indie, Funk & Fuzz with Kenny Mathieson and Darren Brown. The pair are joined by Oasis tour djs Phil Smith & Paul Gallagher (Tues 20 May) & Futureheads (Tues 24 June). Wednesday’s FUNKARAMA flies the streetsoul flag with Dj Hix and guests laying down classic hip hop and urban jams. Thursday’s SWITCH stays well ahead of the pack as the city’s number one urban event with Def Jam, Radio1, Xfm & 1Xtra showcasing their major players. Friday’s relaunch at the club this month with an all new event PROPAGANDA. Set to feature Europe’s finest djs and producers from the underground House circuit, Propaganda fires up Friday with Berlin’s Dirt Crew (23/05), Ame (30/05), Freerange Records head honcho Jimpster (06/06), Leeds legends Dave Beer & Buckley (20/06) and Edinburgh’s Gareth Sommerville (27/06). Quality! Saturday’s SESSIONS transform Thompsons with Hed Kandi, Kinky Malinki, Defected, Pukka Up, Pushca, Blend, Eden and Stereo adding cutting edge club decor & visuals to their funky, uplifting House soundtracks. Sunday’s MUSIK witnesses Jay Kay and Gleave Dobbin delivering House classics from the past, present and phuture!
Thompsons also head off to Ibiza for the last week in August with residents Steve Boyd & Jay Kay playing at Cafe Mambo, Eden & Es Paradis. Full details to be announced on this site
